History

Over 80 years of expertise

During the Great Depression of 1929 Max Lamb founded a sales agency for rolling bearings of the Schweinfurt ball-bearing manufacturer FAG. Initially he ran the business alone, however, he already hired the first employees after a few years. The product range was expanded by vehicle parts and trailers and the company turned out to be so successful that after only 10 years we were able to buy our own premises in Würzburg.

The end of the Second World War also affected Lamb. Our business premises and the entire warehouse were destroyed during an air raid. We started rebuilding on a barrack on the factory premises of the printing machine factory Koenig & Bauer. In 1949 we moved to our premises in downtown Würzburg.

During the economic boom we added new products from the field of vehicle parts to our product range. Soon after finishing his studies in mechanical engineering Mr. Erich Lamb assumed the responsibilities of his father.

In the 1970s we founded the new department for drive technology. The opening of new branches in the years after 1990 and 2000 in Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg led to the distribution structure - with field-based employees in Bavaria, Baden-Wuerttemberg and Hessen - we have today.

In 1993 with Mr. Max Lamb the third generation joined the company. He is also the current director of Max Lamb GmbH & Co. KG. In the past 10 years the company expanded with services in the area of rolling bearing and drive technology by, for example, adding our very own gear assembly and control cabinet construction. In 2008 we celebrated the opening of the new headquarters and logistics building.

Today our focus lies on the distribution of standard and special components for drive technology and rolling bearings, including the development of system solutions concerning the drive technology environment.
